Baby Alison is kicking my bladder. It is the strangest feeling!!! It doesn't hurt, but I can't imagine how it's going to feel when she gets bigger!!! She's so far down there (ya know, by the "door") she probably thinks it's a punching bag......ouch!

Did it hurt? It doesn't have to be the baby moving, it can be strange things that happened to your body that you just didn't expect, or nobody told you about. My Belly!

20 Weeks - The Triplets are the Size of a Banana - cool!
Woo Hoo, I'm so excited, we are finally past the half way mark (well, for a NORMAL pregnancy, that is). Ya know, since I'm such an "overachiever" this pregnancy has been anything but normal! I am just over 20 weeks now and never thought I'd see the day. After everything Brian and I have been through.....the tests, the dr appts, the ups, the downs, the shots, the surgeries, the in vitro cycles, the good news that turned suddenly into bad news........whew - that part was NO fun! We have been blessed and are finally pregnant. I thank God every day. It's been a long, stressful journey, but it's been totally worth it. We cannot wait to meet our three babies.....I am getting SO excited! Now if I could just get out of this darn bed and get ready for my babies to come - it would be perfect! Nah, I know what's best for them, and being DOWN is going to help my chances of carrying these babies as long as possible. So, needless to say, we are grateful and are happy as can be!! Weekend
My weekend was pretty good. My SIL (Sister In Law) and MIL (Mother In Law) came over on Friday for a what I thought was just going to be a visit. They ended up doing our yard work for us in 100 degree heat!!! They had it all planned out....they came while Brian was at work so he couldn't stop them - and what am I going to do to stop them? Throw something at them? So, a BIG BIG BIG THANKS to both of them. They also brought up lots of grub for us to eat throughout the week. So sweet of them. My sister came over on Saturday night with her kids. We had a good time. It's good practice for Brian to be around kids!! He ADORES them........Jenna is 11......Parker is 4 and Brock is 2......so they are at that fun age. They brought us lots of diapers and wipes to add to our collection. They also brought a bunch of baby clothes over! You have no idea how much we appreciate all of that! Such a big help! Thanks to all of them. We didn't have any visitors on Sunday - which was okay - Brian had to finish the tile in the shower. He's grouting the tile tonight so we'll be able to take a shower upstairs sometime this week! WOO HOO!!! I don't like taking a shower downstairs in the basement......so I'm very excited this will be done SOON! My mom is coming for a visit tomorrow. I'm so excited to see her! Hugs and kisses to everyone. Please keep the triplets in your thoughts and prayers.
I Can't Fit Anymore Babies In My Belly!!!
OMG. I think my belly is going to explode! I'm not even 20 weeks yet.......but I feel like I've got 6 babies in there as opposed to 3! I'm just waiting for my first stretch mark - I know it's gotta be coming sometime soon. My skin doesn't feel like it can stretch anymore!! ha ha! Anyway, just got back from my OB appt. I consider myself pretty spoiled as I guess singleton pregnancies don't get a sonogram every time they go to the dr.....not in my case! I've never been to the dr without being able to see my babies. I LOVE it! Even though she only listened to their heartbeats, I still got to see them. Babies A and C were wide awake but B was sleeping. This appointment wasn't very exciting.....but my blood pressure is good, I'm drinking plenty of water and the babies heartbeats are good.....so I'm happy!!!

Maternal Fetal Appointment
Whew! Back from my high risk OB dr. appt. It was a looong appointment. Glad to be home. I'm exhausted.....lol. The sonogram of the babies took an hour and ten minutes!!!!! She checked all of their organs and bones and all that good stuff in detail. So it took forever! But we're happy to report that all three babies look great. He sees no birth defects at this point and time. What a relief! All three babies were quite active during the sonograms. They're sound asleep now - they've been through a lot this morning : ) Each baby weighs the following:
Baby A (girl) - 8 oz.
Baby B (girl) - 10 oz. (she must take after her mama)
Baby C (boy) - 9 oz.
I didn't think they were that big already! So cool! No wonder my belly is getting so big...ha ha. My blood pressure was elevated when she first took it.......I asked her to take it again after the sonogram.....so she had me lay on my left side for a while and retook it......it was fine. THANK GOODNESS. Being on bed rest for a few weeks now, and then going out into the world was a little overstimulating to say the least.......it sounds weird, but it was really overwhelming. That appointment was very stressful - but I feel so much better now I know the babies look great. He measured my cervix and it was the same as it was last week - woo hoo! That means I am doing everything I should be doing - laying around and growing babies!!! So I hope that gives you an update on the stooges.....I am going to take a nap now. I'm am worn out!!!

My Bed Rest Buddies
I wouldn't want you to think I was completely alone during the day.......I've got my fur babies to keep me company. Although not very entertaining......they sleep ALL DAY LONG. Lazy, lazy lumps! But they are always by my side and I wouldn't have it any other way. Dax (my boxer) is MIA as he has his own BIG boy bed in the other room. Nah, they're not spoiled at all!
Weekend
Hi everyone! I've been informed that I haven't updated my blog lately : ) Thanks, Brooke, for keeping me in line. So I thought I'd give you an update. I am 18 weeks along now. Babies are getting big as I can feeling them moving around a lot more now. I can even feel kicks now. It is the coolest thing! I LOVE to lay here and feel them moving around. Most of the time I know exactly who is kicking me. I love it! I say that now....check back in about a month or so, it might be a different story - from what I've been told. Nancy came over on Friday afternoon and hung out with me. We played Pop Culture Trivial Pursuit.......it was a never ending game!!! I let her win this time.....I felt bad for her. Hee Hee. She cooked us a WONDERFUL meal. We had roasted chicken and veggies with a cucumber salad - YUM! It was delish. A BIG THANKS to Nancy - you are the best! My sister and my niece and nephew came over on Saturday. She bought us our first packs of diapers and boy/girl bibs. They are the cutest bibs. Parker picked out the bibs - and she did a great job. Much appreciated. Thank you guys! Brian's dad and step mom came over on Sunday. We had a very nice visit. Darleen taught me how to knit......I know what you're thinking - you can't see me knitting. But I really enjoyed it! I would like to make a blanket - but we'll see. I'm so busy ya know - how could I ever find the time! We ate pizza and they brought over italian beef for us to eat sometime. YUM! A big thanks to them for coming over. It's so nice to see everyone. I've posted some pics of my belly that Brian took last night. I just look FAT, not really pregnant. I've only gained 2 pounds so far believe it or not. I lost 8 lbs. in the first trimester because I was so sick. I gained the 8 lbs back and now I weigh 2 lbs more than when I found out I was first preggers. Dr. seems to think everything is okay. It's OKAY with me, that's for sure! As long as the babies are growing as they should be, I'm fine with not gaining a whole bunch of weight : ) Hopefully they will measure the babies tomorrow at my appt. Will post update after my appt tomorrow. Love ya'll!

6:45am: Brian brings my jug of water (I have to drink a GALLON of water per day - no lie) and kisses me good bye
6:46am: Pee
6:47am: Fall back asleep
8:00am: Wake up/Bathroom Break
8:15am: Eat breakfast - whatever Brian has left next to the bed for me
8:30am: Log into my work email and personal email
8:30am-12:20pm - pee, surf net, watch tv/movies, read, pee, talk on phone, pee, etc.
12:20pm: Yeah! Brian is home for lunch
12:30pm: EAT!
1:00pm: Brian leaves : (
1:00pm-5:20pm: Wait for mom to call, talk on phone, pee, read emails, surf net, pee, pay bills, balance checkbook, watch tv, pee, etc.
5:20pm: Woo Hoo Brian is home!!!!
5:20pm-10:00pm: visit with Brian, watch tv, eat dinner, oh yeah and pee a lot!
10:00pm: Pray and go to bed

OB Appt.
Went to see my regular OB today. I had another sonogram. Got a great look at the "stooges". She didn't measure the babies this time, but she checked heartbeats and all looks great! The sonographer confirmed that Baby B was indeed a girl. She was finally cooperating today and didn't have her legs crossed. Little stinker. So we are having two girls and a boy. Woo Hoo! Anyway, my cervix is looking great. Bed rest has helped so far. My OB is keeping me on strict bed rest until I'm a little further along. So, no weekly outings or small piddlings around the house. But oh well, I'm doing so well that I want to keep it this way. Melissa brought over a kicka$$ meal tonight for Brian and I. YUM! She is such a wonderful cook. I am stuffed!! So thank you Melissa! I'll try to get some pics posted soon. I've had requests for pics of my belly. It's definitely getting bigger!

Bed Rest......and THANK YOU!
Okay, I've come to the conclusion that bed rest STINKS! It hasn't even been quite 2 weeks yet and I'm already complaining....imagine that!!! My body is sore and I'm really crabby. For the first two weeks, I am on "strict" bed rest. This means I can be up for bathroom breaks, and showers. I go see my OB tomorrow, she might grant me "special" privileges like getting up for short periods of time......we'll see. It all depends on how my cervix is doing. Being on bed rest means no housework, laundry, cooking, etc. You're thinking....sweet! But it's not so sweet after a while. Brian has been wonderful! Thank goodness for him. He's been doing all the cleaning and laundry......and the preparing of meals. He's basically waiting on me hand and foot. Many people have brought food over for us to eat. This has been a HUGE help. Brian's mom and sister, my mom and dad, my neighbor and my best friend Nancy have all visited and brought food for us. Let me tell you, this has been a huge help! So thanks to all of you! So, any and all help is appreciated right now.........and any ideas to help keep me busy are much needed too. Movies, books, magazines.........anything is appreciated. I've got a long way to go. We want to keep these babies growing inside of me as long as possible......and that's my number one goal!

Bed Rest........Seriously?
Okay, fast forward a couple of months. After getting through the dreadful morning sickness.....finally around 12-13 weeks, it finally subsided. I was finally starting to enjoy being pregnant. I found out on June 18th that I needed to have a cerclage.........it's where they put a "stitch" in your cervix. So, June 23rd was my last day of working for a while and I had my cerclage done on June 24th. This meant bed rest for the duration of my pregnancy. Argh! Keep in mind I am not even 16 weeks at this point. WOW! Think good thoughts.......it's for the best. It won't be so bad : ) HA!!!
A Little Background
Just a little background to catch everyone up........Brian and I had been trying to conceive for over 4 years. I was diagnosed with endometriosis. After 2 failed IUI's (Artificial Insemination) and 1 failed cycle of IVF (In Vitro Fertilization), we tried another round of IVF in March.......and it took! We transferred three embryo's back into my uterus and all three took. After the dreaded two week wait, on April 7th we got the news we were pregnant! My HCG levels were pretty high......695 at 17 DPC (days past conception)........we were thinking, twins perhaps........but never thought triplets! All I could say was Oh My God........Oh My God. My HCG numbers were more than doubling the rest of the week......yeah!!! April 22nd was our first ultrasound to see how many heartbeats there were. The minute the ultrasound popped up on the screen, I knew it was triplets. I saw 3 "dark spots" right away. Gulp. I didn't say a word. The NP went through each sac and there were definitely 3 heartbeats! I couldn't see Brian's face since he was behind me........and I was almost scared to look at him. It didn't really sink it at first - for me anyway. Brian was all smiles. Needless to say we were feeling all sorts of emotions. Shock for one........but we were so happy it was finally happening. We were cautiously optimistic.
