Happy new year to everyone! I don't know about you, but we have a lot to be thankful for in 2008. We hope 2009 is just as great!

Our First Christmas

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! We had a wonderful time. Everyone came over to our house on Christmas Day to celebrate. The triplets received lots of nice presents - lots of diapers, formula, clothes and toys (of course). Even though it was quite uneventful for the triplets, next year will be a blast! Hopefully they will be walking - or close to walking. I can't wait! But, I don't want to wish time away - they're already getting so big. They're not my little preemies anymore! I still can't believe they are here, and so healthy. 2008 has been the best year ever. We have been blessed beyond belief and I thank God everyday for my three wonderful bundles of joy. EVEN when they all three are crying at the same time - or at the 2:30am feedings......hee hee. I love being a mom!

Our Schedule

People are curious if the triplets are on a schedule. Yes! They are! Thank goodness for it! Otherwise I wouldn't get anything done or I could never get any sleep! Here's our schedule. We eat every three hours!

8:30am - Diaper and feed
11:30am - Diaper and feed
2:30pm - Diaper and feed
5:30pm - Diaper and feed
8:30pm - Diaper and feed
11:30pm - Diaper and feed
2:30am - Diaper and feed
5:30am - Diaper and feed

For the most part, the triplets sleep in between feedings. I like to try to keep them awake as much as possible during the day for obvious reasons. So we do tummy time, listen to music and lots of cuddling and kisses! We have been trying something new - to eliminate a feeding at night. So, we've been putting them to bed after their 8:30pm feeding and letting them sleep until someone wakes up. When one of them wakes up, we wake all of them up and feed them. Sometimes they make it 3 hours, but they've been able to go as long as 5 hours! Woo hoo!

The triplets are doing very well. They are growing like crazy and are so much fun! Kate went to the doctor the other day and she weighs 8 pounds 3 ounces already! WOW! They all are eating and sleeping well. Grandma just bought them sleep sacks with swaddlers and I LOVE them.......I mean, THEY love them. They sleep SO much better at night now. It's wonderful : ) I had a little set back. Sunday night/Monday morning I went to feed the triplets and got this HORRIBLE pain in my upper stomach. After dealing with it through the night and debating whether or not I wanted to drive out in the freezing rain to the Emergency Room (by myself, of course)......I decided to go......I was having a gallbladder attack. Apparently I had gall stones and it was inflamed. So they admitted me right away and I had my gallbladder taken out last Tuesday. Let me tell you, that was hell being away from my babies for that long. I was SO SAD. But we're back together now minus one gallbladder and as happy as can be! I guess it's pretty common for women who just give birth to have problems.

Well, I THOUGHT I had a bunch of time to write a nice long post.....but two of the three stooges are waking up already. Darn it : ) Take care. Hugs and kisses to everyone.

Whew! All three babies are asleep right now, so I've got about 5 minutes to post an update on the trio. Everyone is doing really well. Alison loves to sleep like her mommy......Nolan likes to sleep, but when he's hungry, WATCH OUT! He's a growing boy! Kate doesn't like to sleep so much. She thinks it's overrated...... and besides.....she might miss something if she sleeps! I cannot tell you how much we love being parents. We cannot imagine life any other way right now. I am going to try to take their Christmas pictures today for Christmas cards. We'll see how that goes : )

My mom has been living with us during the week, and I cannot tell you what a huge help she is. We miss her on the weekends when she's gone. She helps with feedings (day and night), cooks for us and does our laundry and cleaning. What an awesome grandma!!! She can't stay with us forever......although I'm still trying to get her to stay until they're at least 18 years old. LOL.

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Also thanks to everyone who has been coming over to help out with the triplets. It's a huge help even if you just come over to hold them!!! We just ask that anyone who comes for a visit is not sick or has been around someone who is sick. We love the visitors but not the germs : ( Thanks to those who have brought meals as well. Not a whole lot of time to cook big meals.......we're still trying to adjust to this crazy new schedule : )
