But she has a really cool splint for three weeks!
A couple of Sunday's ago, the kids were rough housing around - as normal 2 year old siblings do. Well, it must have been a little too rough. Before I knew it she's coming up to me crying (with tears, for those of you who know Ali) and holding her thumb. I didn't really think much of it. Kissed it. Cuddled her. Gave her a big bear hug and she was on her way. Over the next couple of days it started to get pretty swollen and bruised. It just didn't look right. My mom happened to be in town, so I decided to take her to get X-Rays JUST IN CASE. When the doctor came back in and said she had fractured her thumb, I was shocked!!! Broken? Really???? Never in a million years did I think ALISON would be the first to break something. Although she's quite the little dare devil :)
I have to add that it is a very minor fracture. He says it will heal just fine. Her little arm/hand was too small for a cast. He sent me home with the materials - just in case. Well, I've had to wrap it several times. I'm taking her back in tomorrow to have him wrap it a little better. The splint keeps coming out - or she keeps pulling it out is more like it. He assured me her thumb would heal just fine and if it were the same fracture on an adult, he wouldn't even put it in a splint. He just knows how 2 year olds are - and she is very rough with it. It makes me nervous!!!
Broken? Really?
